Afterlife Evidence

    most important information

Within the field of afterlife information, what is the most important knowledge?

It depends who you ask. There are many views.

Some say we should find out if reincarnation is really true. Or maybe to make contact with one’s relatives, loved ones, on the other side, or even our spirit guides. Or should we strive for the most convincing and fool-proof evidence for the next world?

But this is not what’s most important.

too big to discuss

This is one of those topics which is so large and multi-faceted, but so important, that volumes could be written. And I think that’s already happened on the WG site at large.

My purpose at the moment is simply to make statement, and then encourage you to follow the breadcrumbs for more.

How to summarize? There could be many ways but a Krishnamurti lecture comes to mind:

the true individual, never asking for encouragement, confirmation, or support

19.June.1955. Why do we run to psychologists, prophets, teachers, gurus, saviors, masters? Why are we always looking for support, confirmation, or encouragement? Why do we not find out for ourselves what is true? How can we be liberated from all following, all authority, from this sense of imitation, of conformity to a pattern laid down by any particular religion or philosophy? Can we search without fear of not discovering, of not finding a result, free from the desire to be recognized by society? The man who is capable of going to the very depth of things, he alone is the true individual.

Profound statements by Krishnamurti: No need for support, encouragement, confirmation.

Think of a mountain lion. Unafraid, undaunted to walk alone. Confident. Prowls on his own terms, seeking neither permission nor approval.

in principle, on a spiritual level, this is our future

This doesn’t mean that we’re not sociable, that we don’t have a drink with buddies and family, it’s not that we’re iconoclastic just for the heck of it – but here’s what it does mean:

We come to a realization of an inner life source, an internal guidance system. We don’t feel alone. We feel connected to Source, wherever we go in the universe.

It’s not that we’re averse to support, encouragement, and confirmation. It’s nice when it comes. But we don’t crave it, and we don’t live by it. When we discern a “clear inner signal” of the rightness of a proposition, we experience a sense of certainty.

Certainty comes not merely by more content for the mind, but by an elevated level of consciousness. So much to be said here.

This is what we need, in this world, if we’re mature enough to acquire, but especially in the next world. Over there, they debate pretty much everything, even the existence of God, and are often as confused about “truth” as we are on planet Earth.

If we gain a knowledge of the “inner life,” then all other answers will disgorge themselves in due time.

But only to the noble Mountain Lion.

The dedicated student of “the truth” may want to study the following:

Editor's last word:

Here’s an example of what I’m talking about.

Learning to trust yourself, walking the confident solitary path as our good friend the mountain lion, will take us to ideas we never thought we’d entertain.

To reference Krishnamurti again, he spoke of true spirituality leading to revolutionary positions. Here’re links to his lectures on personal revolution:

12.Feb.1956. What is right education? Most parents want their child trained for a position in the social structure, to adjust himself to society, which is based on greed, envy, and ambition. You don’t want him to be a revolutionary, so you have this so-called education which merely helps him to conform, to imitate, to follow.

10.Feb.1965. Society is not transformed through any revolution, economic or social. We have seen this through the French Revolution, the Russian Revolution. The everlasting hope of man, that by altering the outward things the inward nature of man can be transformed, has never been fulfilled, and it will never be. You must learn about yourself, from yourself, not by what you've been told by religion and sacred books.

07.May.1966. "Meditation isn't apart from daily existence. One can't be ambitious, ruthless, vulgar and at the same time talk about God, truth, love. Meditation is a most dangerous thing. To be aware of the total process of existence, without choice, to be completely attentive, makes the mind tremendously active and revolutionary, not a domesticated animal, conforming to the pattern of society. This is dangerous because you may have to alter the whole structure of your life. Unconsciously, you know the danger of it, so you get nervous because you want to lead a secure life. What is being talked about might destroy all that. You will no longer be a Christian, or an Englishman, or an Indian, or this or that. You'll belong to no group, no sect. You'll have to be tremendously alone."

Notice what he says in the last one: An authentic encounter with the inner-life can be “dangerous” in that it might turn you into an iconoclast. You wont fit in. You might not be popular or get the girl. This fear keeps a lot of people from exploring the truth.

Like a germinating seed, the hidden god-life unfolding will change you from the inside out. No longer will you be comfortable identifying with any group or ‘ism’. You know too much now, you see too much, you feel too much. If you’re wise, in most social settings you won’t say a lot, but, truth is, you'll disagree with almost everything now.

And why not? This entire world system is ego-led, built upon foundations of greed, avarice, brutality and deception, might makes right, and cultish identifications. More and more, you will realize that this world is not your home-world, and, whether you like it or not, to be true to your own sacred self, you will have to walk alone.

Well, this has been happening to me for quite a while now, but very recently I saw something new, and it just didn’t sit well with me.

In the “Emerson” writing, I discussed how many in Father Benson’s neighborhood over there are rather materialistic in their thinking. Now, they would be offended if you said this to them, and you should not, but this is the fact of the matter. See the writing.

But something new came to my awareness. Father Benson says that Christmas is celebrated in his “neighborhood.” He says that they’re all well aware of the mythologies associated with this Earth tradition, but they like to do it anyway because it makes them feel good, the spirit of giving and related sentiment..

I understand the draw. I myself have not celebrated Christmas as a true-believer for a long time, but, even so, I like the holiday. It’s good for social gatherings and the grandchildren.

But just yesterday, the “revolution” intensified for me. In a small spark of insight, I saw something quite unsavory about the whole process. It’s something I’ve known for many years, but it didn’t strike me as so bad, until now.

One of the main problems with the “surrogate savior” philosophy is that we end up investing our sense of deference, respect, and attention in something external to ourselves. And this is a good formula for keeping oneself trapped in dysfunction.

This is so because we are not to look to any external source for our spiritual growth. We are to look within. We are to explore the god-life within. Jesus, was not a god, and if he’s an advanced person today, which I assume he is, he will agree with what I say here. Notwithstanding all the tinsel and lights, the feel-good traditions, surrounding his purported birthday.

now filed under 'part of the problem'

And so, the “revolution” within now causes me to wince at the thought of honoring a god-man, even if this is done in a low-key manner. It sends the wrong message. It takes people in the wrong direction – away from the real action, the god-life within. These days, I don't like anything, even the faintest hint, that would suggest that each daughter or son of God is not equally loved. God has no favorite kids. See the "WG Guide" page for much discussion.

If I were in Summerland right now, I wouldn’t be shouting from the rooftops what I’ve seen. But I wouldn’t necessarily want to be a part of it anymore either. It just doesn’t feel right. Instead, now I have to file it all under the category “part of the problem.”

This is a small example of how the burgeoning inner life will gradually rock your world, turn you inside out, and cause you to question pretty much everything.

It’s not easy to be a "revolutionary," you'll make enemies without trying.

But Jesus is also the one who said that a new world is coming wherein “the last” on planet Earth will be counted “the first” in the better neighborhoods over there.
