to face unafraid, the plans that we made

we'll conspire
as we dream by the fire,
to face unafraid,
the plans that we've made

Elenchus. The mental image of us as kids studying together most evenings still speaks to me.

Kairissi. It would have been our version of “conspiring,” building something together, making plans for the future.

E. There’s something about us working on a project, building something together, that really rocks me. It’s a kind of explosive pleasure within me.

K. This means it taps into something very real and very deep between us. It’s much more than physical attraction.

E. I was thinking about all this again, how it might play out for us in Summerland, but it began to bother me a little. May I talk this out?

K. Please.

E. If we had studied together those evenings, we would have seen ourselves as preparing for traditional careers in society.

K. We might have easily gravitated toward becoming classroom teachers together.

E. Yes, that sort of thing. Our studies would have led us to a well-ordered, respectable, traditional life.

K. Part of our dream was to raise a family on small country property, near the school, if we could arrange it, allowing us to walk to work together each morning.

E. I really love that vision. And for a while I thought, maybe we could have some sort of life like that in Summerland. But I know it’s different over there.

K. Even so, I’m sure there would be some aspects of our ideal life that we could put into effect in the home world.

E. Probably true.

K. Tell me what’s bothering you, Elenchus.

E. Some of this will sound foolish to you.

K. It’s alright, I’m your best friend, remember?

E. (sighing)

E. The vision of us studying together is like a Currier & Ives painting. It’s all too perfect. I’m afraid it doesn’t exist in this world.

Currier & Ives, Home for Thanksgiving

E. Let’s look at those two kids again.

K. “Conspiring” together.

E. There’re some pretty solid reasons why you and I didn’t actually get together for studying.

K. There was the issue of snarkiness.

E. Yeah, but, it was more than that. In our vision we started studying together in eighth grade. But in real life, it wouldn’t be long before I would find myself in conflict with almost everyone. I began to disagree with and reject my family’s religion; I became opposed to the Vietnam War; more and more I became an “outsider” in high school, refusing to take part in social events – for example, I wouldn’t buy a class ring, and that alone tells you something. And I wanted to find “the truth.” At the time, I thought it was in the Bible, and so I began to study it. But I felt alone, no one understood me.

K. But, Elenchus, all that was a very long time ago. And we’re soon headed for our home-world. We’ll be happy there, with no more conflict.

E. Well, Darling Dear, I’m not so sure. Here’s my concern. Remember in the “Emerson” article, there’s a description of false teachers over there – we called them the “great balls of fire” crew. Now the average person in Summerland would think it all to be hunky-dory, nothing amiss. But, see, I know too much about these things.

K. Because you’ve been searching for the truth since you were a teenager.

E. Yeah, that’s right. And I’m not the only one who's aware of certain problems. There are good and wise teachers in Summerland who know very well that not everything is a “Currier & Ives painting” over there.

K. Elenchus Dearest, what does this really mean? All the reports we’ve heard about Summerland say that everyone is civil and pleasant over there.

E. Yes, maybe. But, I must confess, Kriss, my radar is up about this whole thing. I have lived my Earth life – quite a few decades now – being the odd man out. Almost everyone from my past has shunned me for being iconoclastic. Frequently, over the years, I have lost out on good jobs or promotions because of my non-traditional views. Some even call me “dangerous” – dangerous! - because I do not accept the popular belief-systems. I’ve lived my whole life enduring this kind of bigotry and ostracization, and so you’ll have to forgive me for misgivings that it will all totally go away in the next world.

K. But this isn’t the Summerland we’ve heard about! There’s supposed to be no threats there.

E. And maybe I’m exaggerating, and maybe it’ll be ok, but here’s what I do know. There are competing teachers over there, and they speak against each other. See this in “the 500” writing. The bad teachers are like bad politicians, trying to amaze and impress, to secure a following for themselves. Now, I’m not going to start some altercation over there, but, I’ll bet you a dollar, just as in this world, dissenters will be noted and flagged. What does this mean? I don’t know. We’ll have to see. But it will be known by the “great balls of fire” gang that I am opposed to their Machiavellian ways. I intend to create a counseling organization to help people find the “inner life,” and, when they do, they will escape the clutches of the politician-types.

K. Yes, I can see it’s a question.

E. The reports we’ve heard are from average people over there who don’t know much about the “made in the image” capacities. But what will happen when a person like myself is actively working against the entire edifice of prevarication of the false teachers? Will they just smile and surrender the territory they’ve held for a very long time?

K. What are the practical effects of this, Elenchus, when we cross over?

E. I’m not sure. I’ll need to keep my eyes open and be prepared for anything.

K. This isn’t how we imagined “spending our heaven.”

E. Probably nothing will happen. Outright hostilities, it would seem, cannot occur in Summerland because the very vibrational essence of that world would not allow it. Even so, there may be subtle unpleasantnesses directed toward us.

K. Darling Dear, we are a very long way from those two kids who wanted to study together in order to build a traditional married life.

E. How do you feel about that, Kriss? Again, maybe I’m imagining too much, but, it's possible, we might not be able to have our small farm, animals, lake and pasture, house and barn, right away. I don’t want to be overly dramatic but, what if they find a way to persecute me? What if I have to find a way to live “off the grid” so they can’t monitor my thoughts? I wanted to learn from some of the native peoples and their shamans – what if I thought it best to live with the super-advanced Kogi tribe for a while in the high Andes?

The Kogi have learned to listen to the whispering messages of Universal Consciousness, as expressed in Nature, to a degree that might be unrivaled in the world, save for the best medicine men of North American indigenous peoples.

We have discussed this form of "listening", this "going within" to access Universal Intelligence, on the "true self" page. But the Kogi are masters, far ahead in this, and take it to high art-form.

How can we confirm their expertise? The Kogi know things, and are able to do things, for example, in terms of environmental cleansing, reforesting, of healing the land, that we in the West are not able to do.

immediately picks out the one star in a blizzard of galaxies

During a trip to London, this Kogi master met with a leading astronomer. A photograph was brought out of the Hubbell “deep field,” a tiniest postage-stamp, and apparently empty, section of the inky blackness which, under intense magnification, revealed some few thousand galaxies. As confirmed by the astronomer in the video, the Kogi immediately pointed to the single star – not a galaxy – amidst the blizzard array and, in Kogi language, referred to it by name; as if it were a close friend! All this is sensational enough, but, let's keep in mind, this star resided in a section of the heavens totally hidden and unknown, totally inaccessible to human eyes, until just a few years ago.

Much of the Kogi wisdom remains cloaked to us. They refer to us in the West as their “younger brothers.” Prodigal brothers, we take it. They don’t fully trust us to do the right thing, as the memories still linger of the RCC-Conquistador brutalities and genocide.

E. You used the phrase “spending your heaven.” I’m sure it’s not what you imagined.

K. Elenchus Dear, those two kids studying at a kitchen table were enthralled by the principle “to face unafraid the plans that we made.” In those early years, we might have seen our future in very familiar terms of “motherhood, the flag, and apple pie.” But we are wiser now and see that the real life is problematic because people are problematic. We want to live a life of service, honoring Mother-Father God. I am beginning to see that we have no idea where our duties will take us. When young lovers commit to “the plans that we made,” this really has nothing to do, fundamentally, with a traditional well-ordered life. What they’re really committing to is – each other – to face unafraid whatever life requires of them in order to promote the truth. It doesn’t matter if they don’t get their “white picket fence” immediately. If need be, that can wait. And maybe they will live in the high Andes for a while as they prepare for their eternal life’s work. The main thing is, they will always have each other.

E. If you’re going to talk that way, little girl, then we should check the next time Parson Brown will be in town.

K. (small smile)
