Soulmate, Myself:
Omega Point

Elsewhere we discussed the “terror of living forever.” Omega Point addresses this issue.

There are many articles on the Word Gems site which rank among “most important"; however, Will You Survive the Terror of Eternal Life?” part one and part two, deserve special mention.

Is going to Summerland like a trip to Disneyworld?

Confusion here is understandable – there’s a lot to do in Summerland; in fact, it’s everything that you ever wanted to do but were denied opportunity during the Earth mission.

All this acknowledged, if going to Summerland were like a trip to Disneyworld, we’d soon tire of the whole affair; even with thrill-a-minute attractions and dazzling activities.

we get tired of material things

Think of the last time you enjoyed buying something new; maybe it was a new car, a new house, new carpets, or a new couch. Or let’s talk about the most popular example: a new marriage partner. With all of these, from new car to new spouse, we almost believed that we’d be happy for a very long time.

But how quickly the glitter began to fade. You hardly had the car a few days and already much of the allure seemed to wane; and you hardly made it home from the honeymoon – or maybe it was during the honeymoon -- temptations of dissatisfaction began to invade.

All of this was discussed in the “terror of eternal life” articles. And there, too, we said that, unless we could begin to access a sense of the beauty of God, the joy, peace, and love of God’s mind, we would not be able to survive the terror of eternal life.

But – how do we access the beauty, the joy, peace, and love of God’s mind?

We’ve briefly addressed this question in other writings, but it’s so important that a special writing is warranted.

And yet, even though we’ve talked about this before, the answer may be hard to accept. But let’s try again.

Twin Souls, from the “soul nursery,” were “born married,” as Andrew Jackson Davis said. That is, they were created for each other, their soul energies precisely calibrated to ignite into flame, but only at the behest of one particular other.

revealing the hidden face of God

It is said that Twins were “made in the image” of God. What is that image? It is not bodily form. It is the potential to express the very similitude of the mind of God – the beauty, the joy, love, and peace of God’s mind. Each Twin, each for the other, is to reveal the “image,” the hidden “face” of God.

So far so good. We agree in theory. But when we require ourselves to think of this in practical terms, that is, in terms of what we recall past love unions to have been, it all begins to fall apart for us. We have trouble believing the good news of the eternal marriage. The hurts and pains of past relationships sully the ideal icon.

learning to live as 'the gods'

How can we become believers to this process? There’s no easy solution. However, at the right time, God will begin to offer us glimpses, snatches of insight, of the eternal marital bliss. When this happens, you will never be the same again. Consciousness ratchets up a notch or two, and, from that day forward, you'll never descend Mount Olympus. You cannot go back to not knowing.

In contrast, when John and Mary come together, they experience temporary elation. But, even though it's fleeting, even that small portal to sublimity offers the smallest echo or shadow of authentic marital life to come.

flashes of elation

The point is this: We need these temporary flashes of elation as they instruct us, providing momentary glimmer of what it would be like to "live as the gods," to feel good all the time, to inhabit the sphere of love and joy, to experience well-being, fitness, and satisfaction on an enduring basis. And it is this joie de vivre that we will require as essential element to live our lives, unendingly, without succumbing to the desolation of materialistic influence.

In "the 500 tape-recorded messages from the other side" writing we discovered, within certain quarters in the next world, a disdain for marriage. Some view it as merely physical attraction, something to grow out of. There's an element of truth to this, of course, as the John-and-Mary union is built upon insubstantial basis; nevertheless, it does reveal a spark of life pointing us to something more wondrous.

all expressions of oneness are pleasurable

Biological nexus, though its pleasures are but momentary, offer a beginning benefit of oneness. All expressions of oneness are pleasurable - from a sense of affinity with creation, to common social interaction, all the way up the line to Twin bondedness. We discussed this at length in "The Wedding Song."

Female-male oneness comes to us in three grades of potency: biological, psychological, spiritual – with each degree of oneness offering its commensurate gift of pleasure. Only Twin Souls experience the fullest expression of these, but, in any case, none of it is checkered as "the 500" suggest. And it's not an optional side-trip, either; rather, it's life and death.

Editor's note: It's the sense of oneness, on all levels of being, that precipitates the delight of being alive. Like air to breathe, we need this to survive eternity.

Because without your eternal Twin mate, you will not access and experience the “face” of God, the beauty, the joy, love, and peace of God’s mind. And without this direct, and very personal, encounter with God, courtesy of your Twin, you will not survive the terror of living forever.

This is Omega Point.

Editor's note:

David Hume (1711 – 1776) suggested that our sense of morality would be different if we were geese; that, “morality is in our gut,” as Dr. Daniel Robertson put it.

What we consider to be desirable is constitutive of being. A goose’s definition of the good will be different than our own

There are some who say that highest pleasure can be attained as a solo act, as an individual, simply by “going within.” It’s a start, but I think such statement falls short and is misguided.

Human beings, designed female and male, moreover, as “made in the image,” will be constitutionally directed to define bliss in a particular way; for them, ultimate happiness can mean only one thing.

required retrofitting: a continuing experience of the beauty of God's mind

In order for us – we, immortal beings – to properly “live as the gods,” we must access and take to ourselves the mind of God. Omega Point speaks to this required retrofitting and, as such, is a lofty, and necessary, reach of human evolution. For, without a continuing experience of the beauty of God's mind, we have no future; a perdition of materialism will consume us.

We cannot live in Summerland, long term, without finding one’s eternal mate. This is why Eve’s name means “life.” As we learned in “The Wedding Song,” Adam gushed in euphoria to realize her coming.

Kairissi. (very softly laughing, whispering) It's the oneness, stupid.

Elenchus. (small smile)

Editor’s note: In other writings I have stated that the most basic purpose of living is that of learning to enjoy one’s own existence. This is not so easy and no frivolous aim. We need this, or we will not survive the terror of living forever. While all this is true, I would offer a slight modification. The most basic, and the most grand, reason for living is that of becoming more and more like the Creator, like Mother-Father God. Either definition takes us to the same destiny: We are to emulate and access the beauty, the joy, love, and peace of God's mind.

Editor's last word:

I’ve come to see that the “terror of living forever” is not a separate terror but part of a seamless terror of what the ego experiences every day, all the days of one’s life. The ego has many fears, but, fundamentally, only one underlying fear, which is the fear of annihilation. What we experience as ordinary garden-variety terror on a daily basis is the common perception of “I don’t have enough” because “I am not enough.” However, as we peel back the layers, it all funnels down to the primary subsuming fear of annihilation, and the “terror of living forever” is just part of this grand and pervasive disease.

We have discussed that the beauty of one’s Sacred Beloved will “save” us. In her role of “made in the image,” the agent of palpable sense of God’s presence in our minds and hearts, she offers a vivifying and strengthening effect, able to overcome the ego’s fear of annihilation.

But what does this mean? It is not the bodily beauty – be it mortal body or astral body, formidable as this beauty will likely be - which shall save us. We have learned that nothing external to our own Selves can rescue or help us become more spiritual; and not even one’s Twin Soul, as external being, can help us.

Then what? She is more than external being. She is not given the title “Twin Soul” for sport. In some undefined sense, on a deeper level, her very essence merges with, is part of, shares elemental root with her Beloved. And it is this unseen nexus, which becomes a kind of proxy for one’s own Self, that begins to dismantle the ego's perceptions of terrifying aloneness.

It is not her bodily beauty that saves. But when the radiant visage of the goddess smiles, seemingly affirming and sanctifying one’s very existence, then that warming radiance, as the radiance of God’s own beauty, will calm and soothe the fractured and stressed recipient. Yes, in her smile, the smile of God's agent, we find existential validation and sense of worth. No terror of eternal life can survive within this enlivening and exhilarating energy.

Elenchus. I’ve been thinking about this subject of “what is true love” for a long time. And quite a while ago now I remember feeling good to have gained a major insight. I realized that, among all the girls I’d known in my life – some of them, really top girls: smart, pretty, gracious, competent – I came to see that, even though they had so much to offer, I didn’t really want to do anything with them. I was shocked to "see" this. What I mean is, I couldn’t imagine myself studying math and physics, or music and philosophy, with them; I couldn’t see myself serving the disadvantaged with them; I couldn’t envision taking any of them to meet my grandmothers, with their all-knowing eyes…

Kairissi. (small smile)

E. I couldn’t imagine myself doing any of that. I could imagine myself being intimate with them, but that’s the easy part; because, “after the loving,” I could see myself looking around and asking, “what am I doing here with you? - you don't belong to me.”

K. (silence)

E. And in my “visions,” the “eyes of the soul,” I finally came to perceive that you are the only girl I’d want, not just to love, but to do all those projects with - the only one. At the end, I realized that you’re the only one I want to live life with. And then I knew that this sense of exclusivity, that you're the only one I'd want to do all things with, was a great indicator to me that you are my Twin Soul and Darling Companion.

K. (silence)

E. But, recently, I’ve been allowed to see even farther. I now understand that recognizing you as the only one I’m able to live life with is part of a much larger vista -- you're the only one I’d be able to live eternal life with; and, even more, you're the only one who could make me want to.
